Working with Giles Deacon has revealed a collection that delights in our floral heritage, with a nod to utilitarianism and history that Giles explores in his work.

From his famous walnut ink illustration, Mydsommer Pickings is a direct translation of Giles' botanical drawings depicting pomegranates and poppy heads embroidered on a linen background. The pattern is repeated to create a complete design and includes many sewing techniques, layered to intensify the depth and luxury of this embroidered fabric. Referencing historic hand embroidery, the linen base enhances the sumptuous stitches, which are fluid and organic but at the same time dramatic in equal measure and loosely based on designs from the Chelsea Physic Garden.
