Guidelines for proper use

Before starting your aging project, follow these simple guidelines that will help you make the most of all the potential of the Cracking Solution and achieve extraordinary results worthy of a professional.

First step

Prepare the surface to be treated, making sure it is clean, dry, and free of dust. Apply the first coat of paint in the color you want to show through the cracks (this will be the base color). You can use any paint from the Magic Paint line to achieve the best results. Allow this first layer to dry completely, ensuring it is perfectly dry to the touch. This step is crucial: incomplete drying would compromise the final crackle effect, making it less defined and natural.

Second step

Once the first coat of paint is completely dry, proceed with the application of the Crackle Solution "CRACKLE – CRAQUELE". Spread the product evenly over the surface using a soft-bristle brush with light and firm strokes. For finer and denser cracks, apply a thin layer of product; for wider and more pronounced cracks, apply a thicker layer. Let the crackle solution partially dry until it becomes slightly sticky to the touch, but not completely dry (about 15-20 minutes).

Third step

While the crackle solution is still slightly sticky, quickly apply the second coat of paint in a different color than the base. This will be the shade that cracks, revealing the underlying color. It is essential to apply this layer with firm brushstrokes in a single direction, avoiding going over already painted areas. As the paint dries, you will observe the formation of cracks. The intensity of the effect will depend on the thickness of the applied crackle solution and the environmental conditions.

Fourth step

To protect and enhance your work, wait until the surface is completely dry (at least 24 hours) and apply a protective product. The Transparent Wax is ideal for sealing cracks and giving a satin finish that highlights the vintage effect. For an even more authentic and characterful result, you can apply one of the Colored Waxes from the Magic Paint line, which will settle into the cracks emphasizing the contrast and giving a wonderful antiqued effect. The Transparent Liquid Protector is instead recommended for surfaces subject to greater wear, ensuring resistance and durability over time.
