Before starting to apply the Cigno Oro protective coating
remember these simple guidelines, they will help you protect your gilding achieving a professional finish that will enhance its brightness and ensure its durability!

First step

Make sure the gold surface to be protected is completely dry, clean, and free of dust or fingerprints. If you have applied gold, silver, or copper leaf, wait at least 24 hours after application to ensure the leaf is perfectly adhered to the substrate. For metallic paints, check that they are completely dry by following the times indicated on the packaging. This step is essential to achieve uniform and lasting protection, preventing impurities from being trapped under the protective layer and compromising the final appearance.

Second step

Shake the Cigno Oro bottle well before use to homogenize the product, without diluting it. Apply the protective with a brush in a thin and even layer, using a quality brush with soft bristles to avoid damaging the delicate metal surface. The best technique involves light and even brushstrokes, always following the same direction to avoid streaks. Absolutely avoid product buildup that could create halos or dull areas, compromising the final shine of the gilded surface.

Third step

Let the protective coating dry completely for at least 12-24 hours, depending on environmental conditions, avoiding touching or exposing the surface to dust during this time.
