Guidelines for proper use

Before starting your restyling project, follow these simple guidelines that will help you effectively block the wood tannins and achieve a perfectly prepared surface for subsequent decorative finishes.

First step

Before applying the Magic Paint Anti-Tannin, make sure the wooden surface is clean, dry, and free of dust. If you are working on a piece of furniture that has already been painted and shows tannin stains, it is advisable to first remove the existing paint using the Magic Paint Paint Stripper. For raw or porous woods, a light sanding with fine-grit sandpaper (180-220) will ensure better product penetration. Thoroughly clean the dust residues with a slightly damp cloth and let the surface dry completely before proceeding with the application of the sealer.

Second step

Gently stir the product before use, avoiding the creation of air bubbles.
The Antitannino Magic Paint is ready to use and does not require dilution. Apply the product with a synthetic bristle brush or a short nap roller evenly, always proceeding in the direction of the wood grain. Spread a thin but complete layer, making sure to cover the entire surface, paying particular attention to knots and darker grains.

Third step

After applying the first coat, allow the Tannin Blocker to dry completely for at least 2-3 hours under normal environmental conditions (temperature of 20-25°C and relative humidity of 50-60%). For woods rich in tannin such as oak, chestnut, cherry, or walnut, or for projects intended for outdoor use, it is highly recommended to apply a second coat of product. This double application will ensure an even more effective barrier against tannin bleed over time. Remember to allow the second coat to dry completely before proceeding with decorative finishes. The extra waiting time will be rewarded with longer-lasting results.

Fourth step

Once the Magic Paint Antitannin is completely dry, the surface is ready to receive the decorative finish. Proceed with the application of the Magic Paint in the desired color, following the specific instructions of the chosen product. The insulating barrier created by the Antitannin will ensure that the color remains true and unchanged over time, without yellowing or stains.
For projects intended for outdoor use or subject to particular wear, complete the work with a liquid protective coating, remember to dilute with very little water. For projects not subject to daily washing, we recommend the transparent Legendary Wax
