The work with Giles Deacon has revealed a collection that delights in our floral heritage, with a nod to utilitarianism and history that Giles explores in his work.
The Sanderson archive design, Hykenham, was hand-painted for the collaboration with Giles Deacon and reimagined as Tansy Bloom. A classic floral by the talented hand of master designer Kenneth Truman, who joined Sanderson in 1939, Tansy Bloom captures his striking attitude for botanical drawing, including new subtle elements that reflect an earthy woodland floor. Mushrooms, creatures, and bird nests are present, some in bright colors and others blending with the original design. Tansy Bloom was repainted for a design-curious audience eager to give a twist to a classic.
