Working with Giles Deacon has revealed a collection that delights in our floral heritage, with a nod to utilitarianism and history that Giles explores in his work.
An original design, Etchings & Roses, has been elegantly repainted and colored in botanical illustration style. Featuring rare prints faithfully reproduced with all the miniature insects scattered throughout the design, a contemporary design with illustrative arches and Giles' calligraphy, including his signature "G". In the metallic coloring, the bow lifts off the ground for an extraordinarily beautiful finish. Each coloring creates a charming contrast between botany and background, the ancient origins of the print are preserved but at the same time made sublimely new.
