How to achieve an aged effect with Magic Paint waxes

Magic Paint offers two types of waxes to achieve beautiful aged and patinated effects on your furniture:
Solid waxes
Liquid waxes

Aging and waxing with solid waxes

First of all:
Seal the surface with liquid protector or with clear wax.

Application of colored solid wax
Magic Paint solid wax is highly pigmented.

For this reason, Elisa always recommends to mix a small amount with a touch of clear wax:

Storage:
Keep the wax in a cool and dry place.

How to apply:

Always use a brush

Massage or remove the excess with a soft cloth

Extra protection:
The next day, you can apply a coat of neutral wax for greater protection.

Elisa's trick:
If you want to soften the antiqued effect, you can use clear wax as an "eraser", but only within a few minutes of applying the glaze!

Antiquing and glazing with liquid waxes

Also in this case, start by sealing with liquid protective or clear wax.

Why choose liquid wax?
Penetrates better into the carvings and more difficult areas
Perfect for more detailed work

⚠️ Attention:
Dries faster than solid wax.

To have more working time, you can mix it with a small amount of clear solid wax.

How to apply:

Use a different brush from the one used for painting

Spread the wax in the area to be antiqued

Wait a few minutes

Remove the excess with a cotton or microfiber cloth

If the effect is too light, you can:

Let the wax sit a little longer

Repeat the operation

Also here, the next day you can further protect with a coat of clear wax.
