How is the textured effect achieved with Magic Star?

Magic Star is a thickening powder used to achieve a textured effect.

Mix the powder with the pure paint of the shade you have chosen.

The more powder is added, the denser the mixture will be.

To increase the texture, apply the mixture by dabbing with a brush.

You can create a rough and incongruous surface by applying multiple coats and dabbing at the same time to increase its roughness.

Depending on the type of granularity you want to achieve, the coats should be applied one after the complete drying of the previous one.

Finally, protect with wax or liquid protective depending on the type of wear.

  Example of use:

The first step is to thoroughly degrease the surface you want to paint with hot water, ammonia, and baking soda (in one liter of water, add 3/4 tablespoons of baking soda and a capful of ammonia; if you are allergic to ammonia, just water and baking soda will suffice). These are the only products that clean the surface well without leaving traces.

Once dried, you can proceed with painting. The first coat of color (for example, Clear Sand) thickened with magic star powder applied by dabbing with the brush. Let it dry well (it is considered dry when the surface feels warm to the touch. Drying times depend on the environment you are in and the season).

The second coat should be applied with a contrasting color (for example, Dark Sand) always thickened with magic star and applied by dabbing with the brush. Let it dry well. - The third coat should be the same color as the second coat. Let it dry well.

Now you need to scrape the entire surface (it is recommended to use 150-grit sandpaper) to make the first color come out. It is advisable to go slowly and evenly. This way, you create an effect similar to marble. 

Finally, depending on the furniture, it is recommended to protect with wax (nightstands, dressers, wardrobes, low-wear furniture) or with liquid protective (kitchens, chairs, tables, doors, high-wear furniture). Note: The protective should always be diluted with about 10/15% water.  

How do you achieve the material effect with Materic Touch?

The Materic Touch is a ready-to-use granular paste that allows for thick application. 

 Spreadable with your preferred tool (various types of spatula, sponge, paper...) depending on the chosen relief effect;

For creating thick stencils, secure the stencil to the support and apply the emulsion with a spatula. Carefully remove the stencil and let it dry well before protecting the support;

For an antiqued effect, overcoat with color, aging agents, and waxes from the Magic Paint line. If you want to color, take a small amount of the chosen color, preferably from the Magic Paint line, and let it dry before mixing well; this procedure is necessary to avoid losing the delicate materiality of the product.

Alternatively, add just a few drops of your preferred color. 

Note: It reaches total deep drying after about 8 hours.
