How do you achieve the Craquele/crackle effect with Magic Paint?

Thanks to the crackle solution produced by Magic Paint, this process is easy to carry out, capable of creating the true ruined effect in shabby chic style!

The product works by cracking the last coat of paint applied after the crackle solution.

The use:

The first step is to thoroughly degrease the surface you wish to paint with hot water, ammonia, and baking soda (in one liter of water, add 3/4 tablespoons of baking soda and a capful of ammonia; if you are allergic to ammonia, just water and baking soda will suffice). These are the only products that clean the surface well without leaving traces.

Once the surface is dry, you can proceed with painting. Open the jar, mix well, and proceed with the first very thin coat (avoid leaving drips at the edges as they will not look aesthetically pleasing at the end of the job). Let the surface dry well before proceeding to the third step (it is considered dry when the surface feels warm to the touch. Drying times depend on the environment you are in and the season).

Apply the crackle solution with a brush (the way it is applied will determine the crackling). Let it dry slightly.

Proceed with the second coat of paint and let the crackle solution work. *

Finally, depending on the furniture, it is advisable to protect with wax (nightstands, dressers, wardrobes, low-wear furniture) or with liquid protective (kitchens, chairs, tables, doors, high-wear furniture).

N.B.: The protective must always be diluted with about 10/15% water.

Advice:

The bicolor effect is wonderful, achieved by applying one coat of paint on the surface, the crackle solution, and a second coat of paint in a different color from the first.

Create a magical effect that ages your furniture and makes it look original!

For a magical effect, you can apply one of the many colored waxes after the protective coat; they will give a wonderful antiqued effect!
