Formula for calculating the total surface to paint
To calculate the total surface, consider each side of the object as a rectangle and add the related areas.
Let’s take as an example a chest of drawers with the following dimensions:
Height (H): 0.90 meters
Width (W): 0.70 meters
Depth (D): 0.50 meters
The sides to paint are:
Top surface: 0.70 × 0.50 = 0.35 m²
Left side: 0.90 × 0.50 = 0.45 m²
Right side: 0.90 × 0.50 = 0.45 m²
Front side: 0.90 × 0.70 = 0.63 m²
Total surface to paint for one coat: 0.35 + 0.45 + 0.45 + 0.63 = 1.88 m²
Calculation of the amount of paint needed
For optimal coverage, generally two coats of Magic Paint are needed.
