What is tannin and how is anti-tannin used?
Tannin is a color leakage that can be due to wood treatments done over time or to the type of wood itself.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to predict it.
It generally occurs in raw, untreated woods, when applying any type of paint, its moisture causes the tannin to leak out.
It also happens when you proceed with sanding and bring the surface to raw wood.
When encountering the problem, there are three solutions:
Apply 1-2 coats of the product "anti-tannin" preventively or after the first coat of paint when the tannin becomes evident (it generally has a yellowish color or tends towards pink);
The second is to apply 1/2 coats of liquid protector (only in this case pure, it should not be diluted) and only when it is well dry proceed with the application of the paint. (it can also be applied if it happens after the first coat of paint)
Accept the leakage of tannin and use anti-tannin waxes or the washing technique to age and disguise the tannin.
